The Ministry of defense responded to the US ship's passage through the Taiwan Strait: resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity

On August 27, the seventh fleet of the US Navy issued a statement on its official website that on August 27 local time, the US Navy's "Arley Burke" missile destroyer "Kidd" (DDG 100) and the US Coast Guard's "legendary" national security ship "Monroe" (wmsl 755) routinely passed through the Taiwan Strait.

Regarding the US action, Taiwan's "United News Network" said that the "Kidd" action was the eighth time that the US Navy had passed through the Taiwan Strait since US President Biden took office. The island's green media "freedom times" said that this is the first time since Biden took office that a US Navy and coast guard ship have passed through the Taiwan Strait at the same time.

On August 28, Tan Kefei, spokesman of the Ministry of national defense, made a statement on the passage of US ships through the Taiwan Strait. Tan Kefei said that on August 27, the US Navy's "Kidd" missile destroyer and the coast guard's "Monroe" gunboat sailed across the Taiwan Strait and made public speculation. The eastern theater of the Chinese people's Liberation Army organized troops to follow, monitor and guard US ships throughout their operations. The US side has frequently carried out similar provocative acts of a very bad nature, which fully shows that the United States is the biggest destroyer of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the biggest maker of security risks in the Taiwan Strait. Tan Kefei said that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China. The Taiwan issue is purely China's internal affairs and does not allow any external interference. We demand that the United States recognize the situation, stop provocation, abide by the one China principle and the provisions of the three Sino US joint communiques, and do not create obstacles to Sino US military relations and undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait region.
