Comrade Huang Xuhua, an outstanding member of the CPC, an academician of the CAE Member, a winner of the Medal of the Republic, the highest national science and technology award, a national moral model, the chief designer of China's first generation nuclear submarine engineering, and the former director, secretary of the Party Committee (acting), and honorary director of the 719 Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., died at 20:30 on February 6, 2025, at the age of 99, due to invalid medical treatment

Huang Xuhua (from February 24, 1924 to February 6, 2025, otherwise known as March 12, 1926, see the "Birthday Fallacy" catalog for details), formerly known as Huang Shaoqiang, was born in Shanwei, Guangdong Province, with his ancestral home in Jieyang, Guangdong Province, and graduated from the National Jiaotong University. He joined the CPC in 1949. He is a famous ship expert and nuclear submarine research and design expert in China, one of the first academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, one of the founders of the first generation of nuclear powered submarines in China, and the honorary director of 719 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation

Huang Xuhua had a bumpy road to education in his early years. Influenced by the Anti Japanese War, he traveled from Jiexi, Meixian, Shaoguan, Pingshi, Guilin, Chongqing and other places to study since childhood. In 1945, he was admitted to National Chiao Tung University and systematically studied the theory and technology of shipbuilding. During his time at school, he actively participated in student movements and gradually grew into a Communist Party member. In 1949, after graduating from Jiaotong University, he worked in various departments such as the Ship Construction Department of the Shanghai Military Administration, the Shanghai Investment Promotion Bureau (Shipping Bureau), and the Shanghai Port Authority. In 1954, he was transferred to the Shanghai Shipbuilding Industry Management Bureau to participate in the transfer, manufacturing, and replication of Soviet aid ships to China. In 1958, he began to participate in and lead the research and design work of China's first generation nuclear submarine. He successively served as the deputy chief designer of the first generation nuclear submarine, the second chief designer, and served as the deputy chief engineer, deputy director, director, and party secretary of the 719th Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Corporation, making great contributions to the development and leapfrog development of nuclear submarines. During this period, in order to develop a nuclear submarine in secrecy, he went incognito and completely cut off contact with his family and friends, until it was revealed in the lengthy reportage "The Nameless Life" in 1987. In 1994, he was elected as an academician of the CAE Member; On February 10, 2014, he was elected as one of the "Top Ten Touching People in China for 2013"; On September 29, 2019, awarded the Medal of the Republic; On January 10, 2020, he was awarded the 2019 National Highest Science and Technology Award
