At Beijing space flight control center, the reporter interviewed Yang Liwei, deputy chief designer of China's manned space engineering, for the first time to listen to how he evaluated the performance of the astronauts.
Yang Liwei, deputy chief designer of China's manned space project: first of all, our two astronauts, including 01 and three astronauts in the cabin, performed very well in the whole morning. From the completion of the action, to the exit of the cabin, the installation of the upper manipulator and the workbench, we basically pushed forward according to the plan. In terms of the work itself, it has been many years since the launch in 2008. In addition to the inspection of some equipment, this launch is more about the work of astronauts. For our two extravehicular astronauts, there are more initial equipment, which is also a good verification of our early astronaut training, It also provides a good experience and basis for the next work. In terms of performance, extravehicular astronauts are very calm at present. From the operational point of view, it is quite accurate. Here, we particularly mention that our astronauts in the cabin have played a very good command role in it, and the team ability of the three people has played a very good role. Reporter: This EVA is also the first EVA of China Space Station in orbit construction stage. What do you think of its significance?
Yang Liwei, deputy chief designer of China's manned space engineering: it is a good verification for our entire equipment, including spacesuit, manipulator, and system support for EVA. As we all know, the manipulator is also the first application. Many improvements have been made since 2008, and great changes have taken place in both equipment and support time. From this point, it is a good verification for our various support systems, and plays a good role for the follow-up work. The second is also a good verification for astronauts. Then, the elevation of camera a, including the installation of instruments and equipment, also plays a key role in the follow-up mission. As an astronaut, I also envy that they can fly on it.
