Beijing, June 26 (Xinhua) a conference held by the Ministry of water resources pointed out that from June 26 to July 1, there will be a heavy rainfall process in southern China, involving the Yangtze River, Huaihe River, Pearl River, Taihu Lake and other basins. Large floods may occur in small and medium-sized rivers in the rain area, so it is necessary to do a good job in flood prevention.

Affected by rainfall, the main stream of the upper reaches of the Yangtze River Basin, Jialing River and Wujiang River, Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake water systems, Beijiang River and Liujiang River of the Pearl River Basin, Qiantang River, Oujiang River and Jiaojiang River will flood, and large floods may occur in small and medium-sized rivers in the rainy area.

The Ministry of water resources stressed in consultation that monitoring, forecasting and early warning should be strengthened in the above-mentioned rain areas, river embankment inspection and defense should be done well, and heavy rainfall prevention should be done well. Focus on small and medium-sized river floods, mountain torrents, small reservoirs and other defense, issue early warning in time, and transfer threatened personnel in advance; Strengthen the joint operation of controlling reservoir, culvert and sluice, flood diversion channel, etc; Strictly regulate the operation of large and medium reservoirs to ensure the safety of flood control.
