[plant morphology] three headed water centipede

Perennial herbs, 8-30 cm high. The rhizome is short. The stem is tufted, thin and weak, oblate and triangular, with bulbous swelling at the base and brown and scattered leaf sheaths outside. Leaves narrowly linear, half or equal length of stem, 2-3 mm wide, margin sparsely spiny. The spike is very dense, oblong, pale white, with 3 clusters, and a few are 1 or 4-5; the middle one is wide ovate, 5-6 mm long, and the lateral one is spherical, 3-4 mm in diameter; the leaflike bracts are 2-3, longer than the inflorescence; the spikelets are oblong, 2-2.5 mm long, with 1 flower; the scales are membranous, light green yellow, with reddish brown resinous spots, with keel protuberance on the back and 7 veins ; stamens 1-3; style short, stigma 2, longer than style. Nutlets oblong, slightly flat, about 2 / 3-3 / 4 of the scale, light brown yellow, with tiny protuberant dots. The heading stage is summer and autumn.

Born in the wet wilderness. It is distributed in Guangdong and Guangxi.

[function indications] it is used to treat women's menstrual pain, knife wound bleeding, qi stagnation, abdominal pain, rheumatism and bone pain.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoct soup, 1-2 Liang; or grind and pound juice. External use: tamping.

[prescription selection] ① for menstrual pain: appropriate amount of huxincao and shuiyanban. At the end of the study. Two or three days before menstruation, take warm boiled water.

② Treatment of stomach pain due to Qi Stagnation: one or two heart protecting herbs and five money for 18 diseases. Take it in water.

③ Treatment of traumatic injuries: pound one jin of heart protecting herbs, mix well with four liang of wine, wring the juice twice; apply the residue to the injured area.
