[plant morphology] anemone altaica, also known as chrysanthemum shaped double vase plum.

Perennial herbs. The rhizome is brownish yellow with many fine roots and scales. Stem erect, 8-26 cm high. The root leaves are 2-3-compound, the petiole is about 13 cm long; the leaflets are oblong to ovoid, the apex is acuminate, the middle leaflet is usually large and short petiole, each leaflet is occasionally 3-cleft or notched and coarsely serrated, and both sides are covered with a few white pilose or hairs falling prematurely. The stem of the flower is long and thin, and there are many leaves higher than the tomb. There is one flower at the top, and there are three involucres at about 1 / 4 near the top. The involucres are leaflike and three out. The calyx is petal shaped, 8-12 pieces, oblong, 1.3cm long, 4mm wide, white or lavender. The stamens are many, the anthers are elliptic, and the filaments are linear. The carpels are many, separated, arranged in a spiral shape, and covered with white short hairs. Achenes ovoid or crescent, ca. 0. 4 cm long, grayish brown, densely white pilose, often with persistent styles. 1 seed. The flowering period is from April to June.

They live in the mountains and forests. Distributed in Henan, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other places.

In the herbal books of past dynasties, Jiujie calamus refers to the rhizome of Shichangpu, a plant of Araceae family. The so-called "Jiujie" refers to the close link of rhizome.
