[source] it is the whole grass or root of tangsongcao, a Ranunculaceae plant.

Plant form: tangsongduncao.

Perennial herbs, 15-40 cm high. The rhizome is short, the fibrous root is slender, and the end is sometimes spindle or oblong tuberous. Stems slender, smooth, glabrous. The basal leaves are 1-3-fold compound, with long stalks and brown membranous stipules at the base; the stem leaves usually have 3 leaflets without stipules; the leaflets are shield shaped, broadly triangular ovate, round or ovate, 2-4 cm long and 1.5-4 cm wide, with wavy or obtuse teeth at the edge, round at the base, smooth and glabrous on both sides. Panicle terminal, few branches; petiole 0.5-1 cm long; flowers white, 0.7-1 cm in diameter; sepals 4, ovate: apetalous; stamens many, about 6 mm long; upper part of filaments oblanceolate, lower part filamentous, about 6 mm long; pistils 5-12. Achene oblate fusiform, 4-5 mm long, yellowish brown. Stigma oblique; pedicel ca. 2.5 mm long. The flowering period is June.

It grows in woods, streams, roadside crevices and wet rocks. Distributed in Liaoning, Shandong, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Zhejiang and other places.
