[plant morphology] Limonium lanceolate

Erect herbs biennial, hirsute. Single leaf alternate, broad lanceolate, apex short pointed, base gradually narrow and downward, with thick and obvious veins below, both sides coarsely hairy, entire. The flowers are white or blue, or blue, with red in the middle; without bracts; sepals 5-lobed; corolla tube short, throat with scales 5, lobes 5, apex blunt, imbricate; stamens 5, hidden under scales, anthers ovate; ovary 4-lobed, style slightly longer. Nutlets 4, shortly ovate, ca. 1.2-2.0 mm in diam., lateral on carpel column, uncinate.
