Evergreen large trees, up to 17-33 meters high, often with roots and tillers at the base. The leaves are feathery, very long, tough, arched upward, slightly grayish white; the pinnae have raised dorsal ribs, the apex is sharp and tough, and the lower pinnae become needling.
