Small perennial herbs, 20-25 cm high. Stem solitary, erect, slender, furrowed. The basal leaf is reniform, 2-3 cm long, with obtuse teeth on the margin, and the petiole is 3-10 cm long; the stem leaf has one leaf, and the base of petiole is expanded into sheath. The inflorescence is single, radial, linear, with 2-3 bracts; the flower is dark purple; the female ligulate flower is bisexual; the crown hair is rich, 5 mm long. The achene is 4 mm long. The inflorescence head is drooping after fruiting.

It grows on the grass slope or the top of the mountain. Distributed in Shaanxi, Qinghai, Gansu and other places.

Functions and indications: Resolving Phlegm and relieving cough, widening chest and promoting Qi, treating phlegm, asthma, cough, tracheitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, lung carbuncle, strain and headache.
