[source] it is the corm of gladiolus.

[plant morphology] gladiolus, also known as gladiolus, gladiolus, calamus flower, benchmarking flower, tassel flower and water chestnut.

Perennial herbs. Rhizomate; bulb flat fishlike, membranous. Stem erect, mostly solitary, 60-90 cm high. Leaves 2-row, sword shaped, 60 cm long, gradually shorter, 2-4 cm wide, parallel veins. Inflorescence long spicate, with leathery spathe. There is one flower in each bract; the flower is large, red or yellow, white, orange yellow, pink, etc.; the tube is wide funnel-shaped, with 6 lobes, oblong, 3 larger ones on the top, blunt and short apex, with stripes; the stamen is 3, inserted at the throat of the tube; the style is slender, with 3-lobed stigma. Capsule oblong, abaxial dehiscent. The seed is flat and the flowering period is from July to October.

It is widely cultivated all over the country.

[chemical constituents] Gladiolus is rich in vitamin C, and the content of light color is higher than that of dark color.

It is cool in nature and bitter in taste.

[usage and dosage] external use: tamping on the affected area or grinding juice. Oral: fried soup, 3-5 yuan.

[selection] 1. Treatment of Sha: soushanhuang Erqian. Chop and swallow in boiling water.

② Cure sore poison: search mountain yellow mash, mix honey to divide equally, apply affected area.

③ Treatment of sore throat: soushan Huang Yan Mo, add a little ice, take a point to blow in the throat.
