[plant morphology] Guanyin amaranth

Perennial erect herbs, 30-60 cm high, all glabrous and smooth. Leaves alternate: elliptic lanceolate, 6-9 cm long, 1.5-3 cm wide, thick and soft, apex pointed, base cuneate, extending into ear, edge irregularly serrated, green above, purple below; petiole short, purple red, upper leaves almost sessile. Inflorescence terminal or axillary, several arranged into an open panicle or corymbose; peduncle slender, 2-branched; bracts 1-row, linear; all tubular flowers, yellow. Achene with line, abundant corolla. It blooms in summer.

It is grown in wetland or vegetable garden. Distributed in Fujian, Taiwan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan and other places.
