[plant morphology] oxjin tree, also known as Vitex negundo (classified herbal), is composed of Phoebe youjinnanensis, feisichai, huizhichai, gouzhang, feiganchai, jimifeng, oxjin Tiao, feisifeng, baiyefeng and laolaihong.

Deciduous shrubs or small trees, up to 8 m in height. The bark is smooth and gray white. The outer scales of winter buds are red; the young shoots are covered with brown hairs at the beginning and shed at the later stage. Single leaf alternate or nearly opposite, broadly elliptic to obovate, 4-9 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, apex short, base broadly cuneate, entire, dark green above, with only fine hairs between veins, pink white below, densely gray fine hairs, veins pinnate; petiole about 2 mm long, with fine hairs. Flowers unisexual, dioecious; umbels axillary, hairy, with obvious peduncle, pedicel 1.5 cm long; perianth yellow, 6 pieces; male flowers with stamens 9, arranged in 3 rings, inner ring base with glands, anthers 2-locular, intropetal lobed; female flowers with pistil single 1, stigma capitate, ovary elliptic. Drupe spherical, about 7 mm in diameter, aromatic. The flowering period is from March to April. The fruit period is from September to October.

It grows in shrubbery or open forest on hills and hillsides. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Anhui, Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Taiwan, etc.
