Evergreen shrubs or small trees, 1.5-2.5m high. Bark grayish brown, smooth, undivided; branchlets glabrous. Single leaf alternate; leathery; broad lanceolate, 4-8 cm long, 1.5-4 cm wide, apex acuminate, caudate, base broadly cuneate, margin slightly serrate, smooth glabrous, surface veins concave, abaxial protuberance. Raceme axillary, hairy, 3-5 cm long; calyx smooth glabrous; petals white, 3 mm long. Fruit conic, smooth, glabrous, calyx teeth persistent. The flowering period is March. The fruiting period is August.

Growing in valley, stream side shrub or hillside forest. It is distributed in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Fujian, Guangdong and other places.
