(materia medica of Southern Yunnan)

[synonyms] Yi and loach (Erya), loach (materia medica), and loach (Quanzhou materia medica).

[animal morphology] loach

The body is slender, about 15 cm long, slightly cylindrical in front, flat in back and round in abdomen. Head pointed, snout protruding forward. Small mouth, lower position, horseshoe shaped. Soft lips, with fine wrinkles and small protuberances, small eyes. The length of the snout and maxilla is equal to that of the snout. The length of the lateral pair of mandible is 1 / 2 of that of the maxillary pair, and twice that of the medial pair. The scales are very small and round. They are buried under the skin. The lateral scales are about 150, and there are no scales on the head. Dorsal fin Ⅱ 7, without hard spines, starting before or relative to abdominal Jing. The anal fin Ⅱ 5-6 starts behind the end of the dorsal fin. The ventral fins are short. The caudal fin is round, and the upper and lower edges of caudal peduncle extend outward. There are many black spots on the body, head and fins. The spots on the membrane of dorsal and caudal fins are arranged in rows. There is a black spot on the base of caudal peduncle. The other fins are gray white.

It lives in lakes, ponds, ditches and paddy fields and likes to live in the bottom of still water. Except for the western plateau area, it is distributed all over the country.

The mucus (Loach's synovial fluid) secreted from the skin of this animal is also used for medicine.

[chemical composition] the edible part contains 83 grams of water, 9.6 grams of protein, 3.7 grams of fat, 2.5 grams of carbohydrates and 1.2 grams of ash per 100 grams, and 28 mg of calcium, 72 mg of phosphorus and 0.9 mg of iron.

The fat of meat contains 1.3-2.5% fatty acids.

All 100 grams contain 70 IU of vitamin A, 90 IU of vitamin A, 30 UG of vitamin B1, 440 UG of B2 and 4.0 mg of nicotinic acid.

[formula selection] 1. To cure thirst and drink water freely: Ten loach (dried in the shade, head and tail removed, ashes burned and ground to the end), and dried lotus leaf (ground to the end). [clinical application] treatment of infectious hepatitis

Take live loach and keep it in water for one day to drain the contents of its intestines. Then dry the powder in the drying oven (the temperature is 100 ℃), 10 g each time, 3 times a day. In 40 cases, 24 cases of conscious symptoms disappeared, hepatosplenomegaly subsided, liver function returned to normal; 3 cases of conscious symptoms basically disappeared, liver margin within 0.5-1 cm under the rib, liver function basically returned to normal (shezhuo less than 1 unit, shexu "+", naoxu "+ +"); 3 cases of conscious symptoms basically disappeared, liver margin within 1-2 cm under the rib, liver function improved; 5 cases were invalid. 20 cases of icteric infectious hepatitis were divided into two groups for comparative observation. Results 7 cases in the loach powder treatment group were clinically cured, with an average of 25.8 days; 4 cases in the liver protection treatment group were clinically cured, with an average of 38 days. Misgurnus anguillicaudatus powder can promote jaundice subside and transaminase decrease obviously, especially in acute hepatitis; it can recover other items of liver function faster than general liver protective drugs; it can also improve liver function of persistent and chronic hepatitis.
