[plant morphology] Geranium pilosum

Perennial herbs, 30-80 cm high. The rhizome is short and thick. Stem erect, branched upward, with white hairs. Leaves alternate, reniform pentagonal, 5-10 cm in diameter, palmately 5-cleft or slightly deep, lobes rhomboid ovate, 3-5 cm wide, margin with pinnate notch or coarse teeth, with long hairs on the top and sparse pubescence on the lower veins; basal leaves with long stalks, 2-3 times as long as leaves, densely hairy, stem leaves with short stalks and sessile at the front; stipules free, long triangular, membranous. Cyme terminal, 2-3 peduncles, from a pair of leafy bracts axillary, each with 2-4 flowers at the top; petiole about 1.5 cm long, with dense glandular hairs, erect in fruit; sepal 5, ovate elliptic, about 1 cm long, with dense glandular hairs; petal 5, light blue purple, about 1.5 cm long; stamen 10; ovary 5-locular, hairy, style hairy, apex 5-lobed, after flowering elongation. Capsule ca. 3 cm long, hairy. The flowering period is from July to August. The fruit period is from August to September.

It grows in moist forest edge and shrub. Distributed in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Shanxi, Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Hubei, Sichuan and other places.
