[plant morphology] Ixeris Sonchus

Perennial herbs, 30-70 cm high, with milk. Stem erect, glabrous, upper branched. Basal leaves obovate lanceolate or spatulate, 5-10 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, apex obtuse, margin feathery, sometimes harp shaped, irregularly pointed serrate; stem leaves sessile, base auricular. The inflorescence is about 5 mm long, most of which are integrated into cymes; the Corolla is 6-8 mm long, glossy, yellow, and the flower tongue is 4-6 mm long, with 5 teeth. Achenes dark brown at maturity with white corolla.

It grows on the hillside and roadside grassland of low mountains. It is distributed in most areas of China.
