The plant is 15-30 cm high. Rhizome short, obliquely ascending. Petiole tufted, 10-30 cm long, glossy, brown chestnut with the axis, the lower part sparsely covered with lanceolate scales. The leaves are subcleathery, triangular oblong or triangular elliptic, 5-30 cm long and 4-15 cm wide, with three pinnate divisions. The pinnae are opposite, sessile, and the lowest pinnae are the largest. The base of the pinnae is extended downward to the pinnae and more deeply split.
