[plant morphology] leech
shrub. Stem 1-2 m high, angular, sparsely pilose. Leaflets elliptic obovate, apical leaflets 5.5-9 cm long, 3.5-5.4 cm wide, smaller on both sides, apex obtuse or acute, with a hard tip, base cuneate, obtuse, few glabrous on the top, lower venation covered with close pubescence; petiole 1.5-4 cm long; stipules small, subulate. Racemes axillary or terminal, up to 16 cm; bracts lanceolate, ciliate, abscission, 1 cm long; pedicels ca. 5 mm; flowers purple, 10 mm long; calyx ca. 4.5 mm long, calyx teeth 5, triangular, acute, as long as calyx tube: corolla butterfly shaped, flag petal rounded to oblong elliptic, wing petal adnate to keel petal; stamens 10; ovary linear. Ventral dorsal suture covered with silky hairs. Pods 15-24 mm long, densely covered with brown close silky hairs, ventral suture constricted, dorsal suture dentate; nodes 4-7, 3 mm long, 2.5 mm wide. The flowering period is from July to September.
Growing on hillside grass or forest edge. Distributed in Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Fujian, Taiwan and other places.
