[chemical composition] the saturated fatty acids in soybean oil are about 10%, and the rest are unsaturated fatty acids. The former is mainly stearic acid and palmitic acid, while the latter is mainly linoleic acid, oleic acid and linolenic acid. In addition, phospholipid was the main component of the total flavonoids (1.5-2.5%).

The content of sterols in soybean oil was 0.38-0.53%, including β - sitosterol, stigmasterol and rapeseed oil sterol, and β - carotene 0.04-0.2 mg%, vitamin E 90-110 mg%, cyclosporenol and squalene.

[clinical application] treatment of intestinal obstruction

The gastric contents were drained by gastrointestinal decompression tube, and then the constant temperature soybean oil was injected or taken orally through gastric tube. Dosage: 60-80 ml for 1-2 years old, 80-100 ml for 2-5 years old, 100-150 ml for 6-10 years old and 150-200 ml for over 10 years old. At the same time with abdominal hot compress, if necessary, infusion, correct electrolyte disorder and control infection. If the curative effect is not obvious after 4-6 hours, soybean oil can be given 1-2 times. Two to four hours after soybean oil was used, hypertonic saline or soapy water was used for low-pressure enema. Generally, the effect is obvious after 1-2 times of use, otherwise it may not be effective even if it is used repeatedly. If there is no definite curative effect after 24-36 hours of soybean oil use or the disease is aggravated, surgical treatment should be considered. 130 cases of acute intestinal obstruction (including adhesion, Ascaris lumbricoides and strangulation) were treated with the above method, 93 cases were cured, of which 84 cases were successful in one time, 11 cases were successful in two times, and 3 cases were successful in three times; 32 cases were invalid and treated with operation. In practice, it was observed that soybean oil therapy had the best effect on general adhesive and ascaris intestinal obstruction, 78 of the 98 successful cases belonged to this type, but most of the strangulated hand intestinal obstruction were invalid, and 24 of the 32 failed cases belonged to this type. Another useful soybean oil 60 ml. 12 cases of ascaris intestinal obstruction were treated by adding lotus root powder into paste and taking it three times a day. Ascaris lumbricoides was discharged within 8-12 hours after taking the medicine. Abdominal pain improved and abdominal cord mass gradually subsided after 24 hours. Abdominal pain disappeared and abdominal cord mass disappeared after 48 hours. There were no other adverse reactions except the increase of stool frequency.
