Annual succulent herbs, 10-25 cm high. The base of the stem is creeping, the lower nodes often have adventitious roots, and the nodes have thick longitudinal stripes and many branches. Leaves 4 or 3 whorls, fleshy, with glandular spots, elliptic or suborbicular, 9-12 mm long and 5-9 mm wide, obtuse at both ends, glabrous or pubescent young leaves, pale yellow and wrinkled after drying; petiole short, pubescent. Spikes 2-4.5 cm long; pedicels and rachis hairy: bracts suborbicular, peltate; stamens 2, filaments short; ovary 1-locular, ovate, apex pointed, stigma capitate, pubescent. Berry ovoid globose, apex pointed, nearly 1 mm long. The flowering period is from February to April and from September to October.
