Herbs perennial, ca. 1 m tall. Stems erect, branched, all densely covered with yellow hairs and needlelike spines. Single leaf alternate; rhomboid, wide elliptic, 7.5-11 cm long, 5-9 cm wide, with irregular angular wave teeth at the edge, apex acuminate, base heart-shaped, with prickly glandular hairs on both sides, capable of secreting mucus, and sparsely spines of different lengths on both sides. Cyme is composed of 2-4 flowers, pedicel is thin and weak, covered with coarse hairs and spikelets; calyx is 5-lobed, whorled, covered with hairs and spikelets; corolla is white or slightly yellow, petals are 5, ovate lanceolate, covered with hairs. The berries are spherical, dark green when immature and yellow when ripe. Seeds numerous, light brown.
