Rattan shrub, about 3 m long. Rhizome hypertrophy, massive. Stems often with hard spines. Single leaf alternate, leathery, elliptic, 7-11 cm long, 3-7 cm wide, apex obtuse, sometimes slightly concave or slightly pointed, base broadly cuneate or nearly obtuse, entire, 3-5 main veins, protruding below; petiole 10-16 mm long, extending downward into wing shape; 2 tendrils on both sides of petiole. Umbels axillary, flowers unisexual; pedicels slender; flowers small, white; perianth segments 6, elliptic, separate. Berries globose. The flowering period is summer and autumn.

Born in the bush. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
