Herbaceous perennial, fleshy, 30-120 cm high. Leaves opposite, spatulate oblong, 5-7 cm long, apex obtuse, entire or irregularly toothed: petiole short; upper leaves smaller, narrower, subsessile. Cyme; sepals 4, lanceolate; corolla yellow, high pedunculate, lobes 4, ovate; stamens 8, inserted at the throat of corolla tube; carpels 4. Follicles with many seeds.
