Cao Jie

Cao Jie (196-260), female, was born in Qiao County of peiguo (now Bozhou City, Anhui Province). The second empress of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty, Liu Xie, was the daughter of Cao Cao, Emperor Wu of Wei Dynasty.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms: in 213, he married Liu Xie, Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty, and was honored as a noble man. Jian'an 20 years (215 years), the book set as the queen. He opposed his brother Cao Pi's usurpation of the throne and throwing jade seals. Cao Pi, Emperor Wen of the Wei Dynasty, became emperor of Shanyang with Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, and was granted the title of Lady of Shanyang County.

In the first year of Jingyuan (260), Cao Jie died of illness and was buried with him in the Han Dynasty's Chanling mausoleum. His posthumous title was mu, and he was known as empress Xianmu in history.

"Three Kingdoms - Wu Di Ji" and "after the Han Dynasty - Empress Ji" have the same view. They both say that in the 18th year of Jian'an, Cao Cao entered the third daughter, Cao Xian, Cao Jie and Cao Hua. In the next year, he killed empress Fu, and in the next year, he made Cao Jie queen.

Life of the characters

Queen

In 213, Cao Cao married his three daughters, Cao Xian, Cao Jie and Cao Hua, to Liu Xie, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty. He betrothed them with 50000 pieces of silk Xuan MI. His young daughter stayed in the feudal state for a while and was sent to the palace when she was old enough to be married.

In the 19th year of Jian'an (214), the three Caojie sisters were honored as noble people. In the same year, Fu Shou, the empress of Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, put forward a proposal to punish Cao in her early years, which was leaked, and Fu Shou was killed.

In 215, Cao Cao asked Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty to make Cao Jie queen.

Brother Chuxi

In the 25th year of Jian'an (220), Cao Pi inherited the title of Wei king and was ready to replace Han Dynasty, so he sent envoys to ask for the jade seal. Cao Jie was very angry and refused to hand over the seal. Cao Pi sent envoys several times. Knowing that he could not keep the seal, Cao Jie called the envoys to him to blame them. Then he threw the seal on the ground and cried, "God will not protect you.".

On the mountain sun

In the first year of the early Huang Dynasty (220), Cao Pi became emperor. He took 10000 households in Shanyang County of Hanoi county (now Jiaozuo, Henan Province) as the food capital and granted it to Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty, and named it Shanyang Gong. During the reign of zhengshuo of the Han Dynasty, he used the etiquette of the emperor to offer sacrifices in the suburbs, and wrote that he was not a minister. Cao Jie was also renamed the lady of Shanyang.

Death of illness

In June of the first year of Jingyuan (260), Cao Jie finally died of illness. He was named empress Xianmu. He was buried according to the etiquette of empress of Han Dynasty, and was buried with emperor Xiandi in the Chanling mausoleum.

anecdote

It is said that after Cao Jie came to Shanyang with Liu Xie, he saw that the people in Shanyang were displaced, poor, sick, hungry, and desolate. Cao Jie encouraged Liu Xie to take off his official clothes, change into cloth clothes, go deep into the folk, and save the people with the exquisite medical skills he had learned in the palace. In this way, Liu Xie became a village doctor in Shanyang. Cao Jie and his wife often go to Yuntai mountain to collect medicine and help people. They are known as "dragon and Phoenix doctors". Today, on the stone tablet of Baijiayan scenic area, there is also a "Han Xiandi practicing medicine picture". At that time, when there was a famine, Cao Jie and his wife ordered tax relief, and Shanyang people lived together to tide over the difficulties. In a few years, the people of Shanyang recuperated and rebuilt their homes. The poor mountains and evil waters of the past have greatly changed. In order to repay the kindness of Cao Jie and his wife, the common people vied with each other to present local products such as fresh fruits to express their feelings, but they were often politely declined.

In 224, Cao Jie sent his grandson Liu Kang (later the second Lord of Shanyang) to Shanyang jingshe (the predecessor of Shanyang Academy) for school. Seeing that the school buildings were all dangerous buildings, he gave all his money to the jingshe.

Cao Jie and his wife announced that their children, no matter rich or poor, can go to school. They are from five or six to twenty years old. The number of them is not fixed. Please teach them individually. They can read first and then learn classics. When Cao Jie heard that there was a descendant of Bu Shang (Wenxian, one of the four disciples of Confucius, who taught here when he was Wei Wenhou in the Warring States period), who was famous and knowledgeable in running private schools in Wenxian, he went to the door with Liu Xie and invited him to be the chief professor of Shanyang jingshe.

In the autumn of the second year of Wei Taihe (228), the new palace of chuolucheng, the capital of Shanyang state, was completed. Cao Jie and his wife soon moved in. On the same day, he conducted a free clinic for the common people in the Taiji Hall of zhuolugong and received patient consultation.

It is said that Cao Jie and his wife went to buyangmen village and asked about Bu Shang's home. Just in time, bu Shang's daughter-in-law was in labor and couldn't give birth. It happened that Cao Jie and his wife were very good at delivering babies. Liu Xie instructed Cao Jie how to adjust the position of the fetus for the puerpera and how to make the puerpera accumulate strength. As a result, they gave birth to a boy successfully. The boussins are very grateful. A few days later, Buchang came to Shanyang. Cao Jie and his wife warmly received him and exchanged views on how to run jingshe well.

After that, until the collapse of Shanyang state in 309, Cao Jie's daughter Liu man, Liu Kang's son Liu Jin (the third shanyanggong), Liu Jin's son Liu Qiu (the fourth shanyanggong) and other Liu family members successively studied in Shanyang jingshe. It can be said that the period of Shanyang state is another prosperous period of Shanyang academy after the establishment of Shanyang city school by Wei Wenhou to invite Bu Shang to teach.

It is also said that Cao Jie and his wife think of Cao Cao when they talk about Cao Pi's ruthlessness in private. Cao Jie reminds Liu Xie that he should think of some advantages of his father-in-law Cao Cao, especially that Liu Xie once eliminated Cao Cao three times. Although Cao Cao killed empress Fu and others, he didn't kill Liu Xie until he died. Instead, he married his three daughters to him. Cao Cao's behavior not only made the Han Dynasty continue for more than 20 years, but also saved Liu Xie's life because of this special relationship. In memory of his father, Cao Jie changed his children's name to "Duke Wei" or "Lord Wei". Because Cao Jie and his wife are deeply loved by the people in Shanyang, most people follow their example and call their grandfather "Wei Gong" or "Wei Ye". From 220 A.D. to 309 A.D., the state of Shanyang passed through four generations of shanyanggong (Liu Jin, the son of Liu Kang, the third generation of shanyanggong, and Liu Qiu, the son of Liu Jin, the fourth generation of shanyanggong), a total of 89 years.

Character evaluation

At that time, Cao's family forced Liu to swallow up, saying that his children and grandchildren were happy in autumn. On the platform of Sima, the mountain sun is still like Chen Liu. Sima Yan, Emperor Wu of the later Jin Dynasty, abolished Cao Huan, the leader of Wei Dynasty, as the king of Chen Liu.

In the novel, Cao Jie's life is roughly consistent with the official history. He was originally a noble man of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty. After Cao Cao ordered people to kill empress Fu, Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty made him empress. Later, Cao Pi forced hanxiandi to become a Zen emperor, and hanxiandi told Caojie about it. At this time, Cao Hong and Cao Xiu came in with swords and invited hanxiandi out of the hall. In Luo Guanzhong's popular romance of the Three Kingdoms (Robben), Caojie scolded hanxiandi: "your brother wants to usurp the Hanshi, so he forced all the officials, so I can't go out." Cao said angrily, "you said that my brother was a thief who usurped the country. Your ancestor was just a rich man who was addicted to wine and had no family. He even robbed the Qin Dynasty. My father swept away the sea. My brother has made great contributions. Why not be emperor? You have been on the throne for more than 30 years. If you are not my father and brother, you will be a fan! " After that, I have to get on the bus and go out. The emperor was so surprised that he left the front hall in a panic. In the revised version of the romance of the Three Kingdoms (maoben), Mao's father and son yelled at Cao Xiu and Cao Hong: "they are all rogues like you. They want to be rich and create rebellious schemes together! My father has made great achievements in the whole world, but he does not dare to steal artifact. Now that my brother has only a few heirs, if he thinks of usurping the Han Dynasty, the emperor will not give up After that, he cried bitterly.
