Luo xuezan

Luo xuezan was born in December 1893 in Zhuzhou, Hunan Province. In 1912, he was admitted to the fourth Normal School of Hunan Province. Later, the school was incorporated into the first normal school of Hunan Province, and he was a classmate with Mao Zedong. After its establishment in April 1918, Xinmin society became the first group of members and became the backbone.

In 1919, he went to France to work and study. He and Li Weihan organized the "work study encouragement Association" to study Marxism and firmly took the road of October Revolution in Russia.

Outstanding contribution

He was forcibly repatriated by the French government in October 1921 for participating in revolutionary activities, and returned to Shanghai at the end of the same year to join the Communist Party of China. In the autumn of 1922, he returned to Changsha and engaged in the workers' movement in rickshaw men's Union and Hunan Federation of trade unions. In 1923, he served as the Secretary of Hunan foreign affairs support association and chairman of the youth salvation corps, and actively participated in the anti imperialist patriotic movement. During this period, he also taught in the tutorial school attached to the Self-study University founded by Mao Zedong and Xiangjiang middle school. The Hunan District Committee of the Communist Party of China was changed into the Hunan District Committee, and later served as the propaganda minister of the District Committee. In 1925, he served as secretary of Liling county Party committee of Hunan Province. He developed party and League members, established party branches in various districts, and carried out united front work with the left wing of the Kuomintang. In the spring of 1927, Mao Zedong went to Liling to investigate the peasant movement, and Luo xuezan accompanied Mao Zedong on the field investigation of the peasant movement in all parts of the county. After the failure of the great revolution, he persisted in the struggle and was appointed by the Central Committee to take charge of the work of the Organization Department of Hunan provincial Party committee together with Xia Minghan. In September 1927, he served as member of Hunan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Secretary of Xiangtan Working Committee. In May 1928, he was transferred to work in Shanghai. Later, he was sent to Shandong to do party work and teach in Shandong Qilu University. In 1929, he was sent to Hangzhou to take part in the leadership of the Zhejiang provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China. Soon after, he was arrested by the enemy. He was strong and unyielding in prison and had a resolute struggle with the enemy. On August 27, 1930, he was killed by secret fetters in Hangzhou. He was only 36 years old.
