Synopsis

In 1991, 18-year-old triad member Liu Jianming (Andy Lau) followed the instructions of his elder brother Han Chen (Zeng Zhiwei) to enter the police academy and become an undercover. At the same time, another student in the police academy, Chen Yongren (played by Tony Leung), is forced to drop out of school by the police. In fact, he is allowed to work as an undercover agent in a triad society. After graduating from the police academy, Liu Jianming successfully entered the police station and became a member of team a of the criminal intelligence section. During this period, he used various opportunities to provide Han Chen with a lot of intelligence. Chen Yongren has gained Han Chen's initial trust over the years, but because Han Chen's case has never been solved, he can only stay in the gang forever, and only police inspector Huang (Huang Qiusheng) has one-way contact with him.
