Wenchuan Special Tourist Area

Wenchuan Special Tourist Area is a memorial and cultural theme scenic area specially developed after the reconstruction of the Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12, 2008. It is composed of Yingxiu, Shuimo Ancient Town and Sanjiang Eco-tourism Area. It has not only beautiful landscapes and biodiversity, but also profound historical and cultural background, colorful national culture, extensive and profound ecological and geological culture. Natural scenery and strong local customs, national culture, cultural landscape and pastoral customs reflect each other, unique charm.

Wenchuan has attracted worldwide attention because of its rich history and culture and rapid post-disaster reconstruction. It is one of the four major Qiang nationality-inhabited counties in China. It is known as "the hometown of Dayu, the home of panda and the home of Qiang embroidery". In order to promote the revitalization of the tourism industry in Wenchuan, during the recovery and reconstruction of Wenchuan after the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake, Wenchuan County adhered to the idea of "overall planning of tourism, comprehensive scenic spots, one-three interactions, one after another" in its tourism development. With "world Wenchuan, ink Taoyuan" as its tourism orientation, it organized tourism around resources, culture, cities and towns, and vigorously developed three-essence tourism, focusing on forming one-step-by-step and one-step scenic spots. Scenic spots

Wenchuan Special Tourism Area in Aba Prefecture includes Yingxiu, Shuimo Ancient Town and Sanjiang Ecotourism Area. At 14:28:04 seconds on May 12, 2008, a magnitude 8.0 earthquake occurred about 11 km south of Yingxiu Town, Wenchuan County (31 degrees north latitude, 103 degrees east longitude 24'), with a focal depth of 14 km. The beautiful and prosperous Yingxiu in the past was almost leveled.

Epicentre Yingxiu

Yingxiu Town is located in the southeast of Wenchuan County. It is rich in vegetation and beautiful scenery. It is the gateway of the western Sichuan Plain to Aba Prefecture. It is also the only access to Jiuzhai, Huanglong World Natural Heritage Reserve and Wolong-Siniangshan Giant Panda Habitat. It is the convergence point of Tibetan and Qiang nationalities, known as the "Xiqiang Gate". Yingxiu as a "5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake" disaster area, now retains the focal point, Xuankou Middle School ruins and other earthquake features, and the new "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake epicenter Memorial hall, to commemorate that tragic moment, free visit.

Ancient town of Shui Mo

Shuimo Ancient Town is located on Shouxi River, a tributary of Minjiang River in the south of Wenchuan County. It enjoyed the reputation of "Longevity Town" as early as the Shang Dynasty. It was called "Old People's Village", and later renamed "Shuimo" until now. Shuimo Town is a blending area of Han and minority nationalities. Mainland customs and Tibetan and Qiang cultures are intertwined, and the culture of Xishu and Zen Buddhism are flourishing. After the 5.12 earthquake, Shuimo Ancient Town rebuilt "Chanshou Old Street, Shouxi Lake and Qiangcheng" three major districts. The ancient streets of Shuimo Town are numerous, and it is known as the first town rebuilt after the Wenchuan earthquake.

Sanjiang Ecotourism Area

Wenchuan Sanjiang Eco-tourism Area is located in Sanjiang Township in the south of Wenchuan County, where the Xihe River, Zhonghe River and Heishihe River converge, so it is called Sanjiang. Waterfalls, ancient roads and bridges make up a primitive and beautiful scenery. Adjacent to Wolong National Nature Reserve and Qingcheng Mountain Scenic Area, the scenic spot is the habitat of giant pandas as well as the world's largest "plant living fossil" growing area of Davidia involucrata. It has well-preserved natural ecology, Tibetan and Qiang folklore culture, and the history and culture of Tea-horse Ancient Road. It is a short-distance tourist scenic spot integrating sightseeing, experience and summer vacation.

Traffic

Traffic to Yingxiu Ancient Town:

1. Take a bus to Yingxiu in the passenger transport center after arriving at Dujiangyan.

2. The bus from Chengdu Tea Shop Zi Passenger Station to Yingxiu.

Traffic to Shuimo Ancient Town:

1. Take the bus: You can take the bus directly to Shuimu Town at Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station. There are two shifts every day, the time is 9 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. respectively. The departure time from Shuimu to Chengdu is 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. respectively. The fare is 28 yuan, and the whole journey takes about one and a half hours.

2. Take the express railway from Chengdu North Railway Station to Dujiangyan in about 30 minutes. Then take Bus No. 8 or No. 9 to Dujiangyan Passenger Station. Take the shuttle bus to Shuimu or Sanjiang. You can get to the scenic spot in 30 minutes.

Transportation to Sanjiang Tourist Area:

From Chengdu North Railway Station to Dujiangyan Express, about 30 minutes later to Dujiangyan, and then take Bus No. 8 or No. 9 to Dujiangyan Passenger Station, take the Shuimu or Sanjiang bus to the scenic spot.
