Evolution of construction
In December 1995, Shanghai Global Financial Center acquired land use rights. At the beginning of 1997, after the construction of Shanghai Global Financial Center started, the project was shut down due to the impact of the Asian financial crisis.
On February 23, 2003, the Shanghai Global Financial Center held a rehabilitation ceremony. However, as the skyscrapers under construction in Taipei and Hong Kong exceeded the original design height of the Shanghai Global Financial Center, the Japanese side revised the original design plan and changed the design height from 466 meters to 492 meters.
In October 2005, the Shanghai Global Financial Center announced the final design plan. The original round void design at the top of the building was changed to an inverted trapezoidal design. On November 16, the Shanghai Global Financial Center was fully opened.
On April 16, 2006, the first glass curtain wall panel was installed in Shanghai Global Financial Center.
On September 14, 2007, the structure of Shanghai Global Financial Center was capped.
In mid-May 2008, the glass curtain wall of Shanghai Global Financial Center was installed.
On August 29, 2008, the Shanghai Global Financial Center was completed, and on August 30, the Shanghai Global Financial Center Tourism Office was officially opened.
Architectural pattern
Shanghai Global Financial Center covers an area of 14400 square meters with a total floor area of 381600 square meters. It has 101 floors above ground and 3 floors below ground. Its height is 492 meters and its appearance is square column. The B2, B1, 2 and 3 floors of Shanghai Global Financial Center are shopping malls and restaurants; the 7-77 floors are office areas (29 floors are global financial and cultural communication centers); and the 79-93 floors are hotels. It's the sightseeing hall.
The sightseeing halls of Shanghai Global Financial Center are distributed on 94, 97 and 100 floors, of which the 94 floors are 423 meters high, with an area of about 750 square meters and 8 meters high. The 97-storey sightseeing flyover is 439 meters high. It is a floating flyover with an open glass ceiling design. The 100-storey Tourist Sky Pavilion, located at 474 meters, is a suspended sightseeing corridor about 55 meters long, with three transparent glass floors.
Two typhoon dampers, each weighing 150 tonnes and each measuring 9 metres in length and width, were installed on the 90th floor (about 395 metres) of the Shanghai Global Financial Center. Inductors were used to measure the shaking degree of buildings in the wind, and computer calculations were used to control the direction of the damper movement to reduce the shaking caused by strong wind. Because the driving device is designed to move along both vertical and horizontal directions, the wind damper can achieve 360 degree direction control and can resist typhoons of more than 12 grades.
The curtain wall of Shanghai Global Financial Center is equipped with horizontal aluminium alloy grid strips to meet the needs of independent lightning protection and decoration. The unit glass curtain wall totals about 120,000 meters and about 100,000 unit panels.
Landscape lighting in Shanghai Global Financial Center is generally divided into three types: weekday mode, Sunday mode and festival mode. The system needs to upload and express the creative animation effect in real time and correctly. Users can set a number of commonly used program sources, and can also produce programs according to specific festivals and play them in different time conditions. The program source is usually FLASH animation that has been made; it can be a high-definition DVD transcription (fuzzy display); it can also change the mood and color of the display according to the cold and warm weather and sunshine and rain. Because the building is 492 meters high, the design and construction of the project and the lighting effect of the facade must be real-time, stable and synchronous broadcast, and it is required that the lighting effect can not be paralysed in large areas when some controllers and lamps are damaged.
Architectural features
The Shanghai Global Financial Center is designed by KPF Architectural Firm of the United States and Miyake Design Firm of Japan Corporation. The structural design comes from LERA, which is reinforced concrete structure (SRC structure) and steel structure (S structure). The shape and structure of Shanghai Global Financial Center originated from the idea of "integration of heaven and earth", which deduced high-rise buildings as a link between heaven and earth. The main body of Shanghai Global Financial Center is a square cylinder, which is formed by the intersection of two huge arch slopes gradually narrowing upward to the top. The square prisms and large arcs intersect each other, highlighting the vertical height of the building. To alleviate wind resistance, a huge circular wind tunnel opening was installed at the top of the original design, which was borrowed from the "Moon Gate" of Chinese garden architecture. Later, the wind tunnel on the top of the building was changed from circular to inverted trapezoid.
The tower of Shanghai Global Financial Center is mainly composed of core tube and mega-column structure, which is constructed by self-developed integral lifting steel platform formwork system and imported hydraulic automatic climbing formwork system. The outer wall decoration of Shanghai World Financial Center Tower adopts unit glass curtain wall, and the glass form adopts glue-clamped hollow or hollow low low-E glass to meet the needs of safety, beauty and energy saving.
