Shenyang Science Centrum

Shenyang Science Palace is located in Wulihe Central Business District, Shenyang District, Liaoning Province. It is a large-scale modern popular science education base in Shenyang District. It was built in June 2000.

Shenyang Science Palace covers an area of 36,000 square meters, with a building area of 40,000 square meters. It integrates popular science exhibition, exchange and training, conference and exhibition, and high-tech entertainment. The Science Palace includes more than 240 popular science exhibits.

Construction course

On September 17, 1998, the construction of Shenyang Science Palace began.

On June 18, 2000, Shenyang Science Palace was built and put into use.

In November 2003, IBM donated information exhibits to the Information Exhibition Hall of Shenyang Science Palace.

In April 2005, the Mathematics Exhibition Hall of Shenyang Science Palace was completed.

On May 20, 2005, a popular science painting wall for children and adolescents in Shenyang was built in the Science Palace.

On May 21, 2006, the robot exhibition hall of Shenyang Science Palace was renovated.

On June 24, 2005, the science and technology content in the science popularization exhibits of the Science Palace was relatively high, and the linear track was completed as the longest exhibit of the manned maglev vehicle in the Science and Technology Museum of China.

In 2006, Shenyang Science Palace was rated as China's national 4A tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration.

On February 8, 2006, Shenyang Science Palace was named "National Youth Extracurricular Activities Demonstration Base" and was appraised as "Ten Facts of Shenyang's Spiritual Civilization Construction in the Five Years of OO".

In May 2006, Shenyang Science Palace established a popular science travel agency with the theme of popular science tourism.

In September 2006, the Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Department and Shenyang Science and Technology Bureau decided to build "Liaoning Youth Science and Technology Innovation Base" in Shenyang Science Palace. The first phase of the project has been completed and put into use.

In August 2008, the "Digital World" exhibition hall on the second floor of the Science Palace Science Popular Exhibition Hall was built and opened.

In 2009, Academician Gallery of Science Palace was built and opened after careful preparation.

In November 2009, the first exhibition hall of popular science knowledge on new energy in Liaoning Province was completed in the Science Palace.

On January 12, 2012, the renovation of the first floor of the Science Palace Science Popular Exhibition Hall was completed.

In March 2012, Shenyang Spiritual Civilization Construction Steering Committee named "the first batch of Minors'Ideological and Moral Construction Practice Base in Shenyang".

On January 25, 2013, the Science Palace Celestial Museum officially opened.

On February 22, 2013, the renovation of the robot exhibition hall and the digital world exhibition hall on the second floor of Shenyang Science Palace Science Popular Science Exhibition Hall was completed.

Venue layout

The Science Palace of Shenyang Science Palace has a series of popular science exhibition halls, such as basic science exhibition hall, robot exhibition hall, digital world exhibition hall, Aerospace Exhibition hall, mathematics exhibition hall, new energy exhibition hall, new energy exhibition hall, and new energy exhibition hall. It also has a series of entertainment projects, such as ball theater and 4D film, with a screen diameter of 23 meters, a total screen area of nearly 1000 square meters, and a film screen of more than 800 square meters. It can accommodate 260 spectators.

The Science Palace also opens a base for scientific and technological innovation to develop young people's innovative thinking ability through hands-on experience.

Exhibition Profile

Basic Science Exhibition Hall

The Department of Basic Sciences covers mechanics, optics, electromagnetics, machinery and other disciplines. Through the wonderful phenomena of sound, light, magnetism and electricity, it vividly shows the general laws of basic science to the audience and explains the principles of science. In January 2012, the Department of Basic Science of Shenyang Science Palace was renovated and reopened. The renovated Department of Basic Sciences is divided into four exhibition areas: mechanical transmission, electromagnetic mystery, mechanical wonder, vision and illusion, to show the spectators more wonderful scientific wonders.

Digital World, Robot Exhibition Area

The digital world, the fingerprint recognition system using human biological characteristics, the speech recognition system using sound to operate computer, the sound control tree and the stringess piano are displayed to the audience in the robotic exhibition area.

Robot Hall is an exhibition hall with Shenyang local characteristics. The industrial application robots, anthropomorphic robots and cartoon robots on display in the exhibition hall reflect Shenyang's advantages in robotics manufacturing and technology.

Aerospace and Mathematics Exhibition Area

The air exhibition area of Science Palace is a window to introduce aviation knowledge to the audience. The exhibition area exhibits the first maneuverable and powered model of a sustained flight invented and manufactured by the Wright brothers in the United States. The space exhibition area of the Science Palace mainly demonstrates the development course and brilliant achievements of China's space industry through a large number of model demonstrations.

The Mathematics Exhibition Hall is another thematic exhibition area of the Science Palace. It covers an area of more than 400 square meters and has nearly 30 exhibits. Mathematics exhibits adopt modern technology, participatory and interesting display methods, qualitatively display mathematical phenomena, interpret mathematical knowledge and reveal mathematical mysteries. The exhibits cover elementary mathematics, advanced mathematics, engineering mathematics, machinery, descriptive geometry, electromagnetics and other fields related to mathematics, as well as classical mathematical problems.

Popular Science Museum for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation

Shenyang Science Palace Science Museum for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation is the first theme exhibition area for earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation in Northeast China. It covers an area of nearly 1,000 square meters and has 22 exhibits. There are four thematic exhibition areas, which show the geotectonics and the causes of earthquakes, the exploration of seismicity observation and prediction, the prevention and prevention of earthquake disasters, the rescue and escape of earthquakes.

From the perspective of popular science, the exhibits of the Science Museum for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction of Shenyang Science Palace introduced the scientific contents of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction in vivid display form, so as to strengthen the consciousness of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and improve the ability of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.

Science and Technology Innovation Base

The total construction area of science and technology innovation activity base is 2500 square meters, which is carried out in three phases. The first phase of the base project is designed around two fields of radio and model, including five studios: radio, electronic production studio, model building studio and ship model making studio. The construction area is 1000 square meters. (Completed in October 2006). The second phase of the base is mainly divided into robot studio, model studio and woodworking machine tool studio. Mainly adolescents'hands-on activities, supplemented by expert lectures, are designed to cultivate their innovative consciousness, open up their innovative thinking, comprehensively promote quality education, and train high-quality innovative talents and small inventors. It includes five studios: radio studio, electronic studio, model studio and ship model studio. It is mainly divided into robot studio, model studio and woodworking machine tool studio. Through the guidance of professional teachers, we can do robotic programming, car model assembly, and do some cute cartoon models with woodworking machine tools by ourselves, so as to develop young people's innovative thinking ability.

Important activities

On May 15, 2004, the Science and Technology Week opened. At the opening ceremony, the special line for popular science tourism was launched. The popular science caravan tour exhibition was launched and the first exhibition was held in Xinmin Senior High School.

From May 1 to August 20, 2006, China Dinosaur and Ancient Animal Exhibition was held jointly with the World Expo Park.

On June 26, 2006, Shenyang Science Palace hosted the annual meeting of National Science and Technology Museum in 2006 for the first time.

On April 20, 2009, the launching ceremony of the Intellectual Property Publicity Week in Shenyang was held at the Science Palace.

On May 15, 2010, Shenyang Third Youth Robot Competition was held at the Science Palace.

On July 11, 2010, Liaoning Province and Shenyang City held the 7th Juvenile Intelligence Qiaoqiao Competition in the Science Palace.

On May 16, 2011, the unveiling ceremony of Shenyang Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation Science Museum was solemnly held at Shenyang Science Palace.

On June 8, 2011, Shenyang Anti-corruption Cultural Works Exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Party was solemnly opened at the Science Palace of Shenyang.

From June 14 to 17, 2011, an exhibition of calligraphy, fine arts and photographs was held in the Science Palace to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Party.

On July 5, 2011, the Science Palace held a grand opening ceremony of the World Classic Art Interactive Exhibition.

On October 10, 2011, "Emergency platinum 10 minutes - National Day of Self-help and Mutual Rescue" was held in Science Palace Square.

On October 26, 2012, the Science Palace Science Museum for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation was awarded the title of "National Science Education Base for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation" by the State Seismological Bureau, and held a listing ceremony.

On May 10, 2013, the 6th Shenyang Youth Robot Competition was held at Shenyang Science Palace.

Opening Hours

Shenyang Science Palace closes every Monday and Tuesday (except for statutory holidays). It opens normally from Wednesday to Sunday. The opening time is from 9:00 to 16:30 every day.
