Leshan City is rich in mineral resources, 34 kinds of mineral resources have been proved, especially non-metallic minerals, with great development potential. Among them, the total amount of proven rock salt resources is 10.5 billion tons, with an annual mining capacity of 2.53 million tons, which is one of the main producing areas of brine (well) salt in China; Mabian phosphate mine reserves rank fourth among the eight major phosphate mines in China, with proven resources of 803 million tons; proven coal resources amount to 285 million tons, and the newly discovered coal resources of Qianwei and Jingyan No.1 belt are about 320 million tons.
