By the end of 2018, there were 652700 employees participating in the basic endowment insurance for enterprise employees in Leshan, an increase of 27000 over the end of the previous year. 1.2567 million people participated in the endowment insurance for urban and rural residents, an increase of 59100. A total of 576500 urban employees participated in the basic medical insurance, an increase of 15100, and a decrease of 8500 by 2703800. 232700 people participated in unemployment insurance, an increase of 22600. There were 377500 workers in industrial injury insurance, an increase of 93200, and 216600 in maternity insurance, an increase of 35000.
By the end of the year, there were 572300 urban employees in the city. By the end of the year, the registered urban unemployment rate was 3.82%, and 18800 unemployed people were reemployed.
By the end of the year, 47500 urban residents and 116900 rural residents had the minimum living security.
On February 12, 2020, it was jointly determined by the Ministry of civil affairs and the Ministry of finance as the fifth batch of pilot areas for the reform of home-based and community-based elderly care services supported by the central government.
