Dazhou hydrology
The rivers in Dazhou city mainly belong to the Jialing River water system, which is a tributary of the Yangtze River. It originates from Daba Mountain and distributes in the form of branches from north to south. Qianhe River, Zhonghe River and Houhe River merge into Zhouhe River, then merge with Ba River to form Qujiang River in Sanhui town of Quxian County, and flow 300 km south into Yangtze River. There are 53 rivers with a drainage area of more than 100 square kilometers and 15 main streams with a drainage area of more than 1000 square kilometers. There are 9 navigable rivers, namely Qujiang River, Zhouhe River, Bahe River, Qianhe River, Houhe River, Zhonghe River, Tiexi River, Qingxi River, and lingangxi River, which basically form a waterway transportation network with Qujiang River, Zhouhe River and Bahe River as the main stream. The river basin covers four counties (cities) of Dazhou city. The navigable mileage of each river is different, and the carrying capacity is less than 100 tons.
