Biological resources in Dazhou
There are more than 400 species of vertebrates in Dazhou City, including 60 kinds of mammals, 230 kinds of birds, 14 kinds of reptiles, 10 kinds of amphibians and 85 kinds of fish. There are 52 species of national and provincial key protected wild animals. There are 14 species of mammals, 20 species of birds, 1 species of amphibian (Andrias davidianus, commonly known as giant salamander), 3 species of mammals, 12 species of birds and 2 species of reptiles under the provincial key protection; and 250 species of wild animals with important economic and scientific research value announced by the forestry Department of Sichuan Province.
There are more than 5000 species of wild plants in the region, belonging to 201 families and 1269 genera. In addition to 31 rare and rare protected plants, accounting for about 8.8% of the national protected plants, there are also medicinal plants, oil plants, aromatic plants, starch plants, fiber plants, tannin plants, bacteria, algae and flowers.
