Shanghai Happy Valley is located in the Songjiang Sheshan National Tourism Resort in the southwest of Shanghai. It is 40 kilometers from the central area of Shanghai, 25 kilometers from Hongqiao International Airport and 68 kilometers from Pudong International Airport.

Shanghai Happy Valley Park covers an area of 650,000 square meters and has more than 100 experience projects. There are seven main theme areas in Shanghai Happy Valley Park: Sunshine Harbor, Happy Time, Shanghai Beach, Shangri-La, Happy Ocean, Gold Mine Town and Hurricane Bay.

In May 2012, Shanghai Happy Valley was named "National AAAA Tourist Scenic Area". From 2012 to 2016, Shanghai Happy Valley was awarded the most popular scenic spot in the year of "Topping the Tourist Industry Award" for five consecutive years.

Evolution of development

On September 12, 2009, Shanghai Happy Valley was built and opened.

In July 2013, Shanghai Maya Beach Water Park opened grandly, launching 18 major parent-child recreation projects, which became a new landmark for water play in East China, and also marked the formal formation of the "land-water linkage" product pattern in Shanghai Happy Valley. In July, Shanghai Happy Valley upgraded the Happy Time Zone and added thematic interactive projects.

In July 2014, Shanghai Happy Valley Phase II "Happy Ocean Theme Area" was opened. The Happy Ocean covers an area of 50,000 square meters. Under the background of ocean culture, family amusement projects such as "Ocean Adventure" and "Starfish Theatre" were launched to create a 10,000 square metre panoramic parent-child interactive experience Hall - Marine Fantasy Hall.

In June 2015, Shanghai Happy Valley launched a new Hurricane Bay Theme Area, adding multi-dimensional rotating project "Extreme Tornado", "Old Captain" Theme Restaurant and series of theme stores to upgrade the lighting of the project environment, realizing the interconnection of "Happy Hour+Hurricane Bay+Happy Ocean", and initially forming the operation mode of "day and night amphibious".

In July 2016, Shanghai Happy Valley's large-scale cross-media reality water show Tianmu Shuiji premiered globally, forming a "five in one" performing system of festival performance, film and television performance, theatre performance, tour performance and large-scale water performance.

In the summer of 2016, Shanghai Maya Water Park Phase 2 "Magic Water City" was officially opened to the outside world, introducing the "4-lane Water Jumper" - the extreme speed Python and the large-scale real-life water war interactive project - Crazy water war from Canada and the United States; at the same time, creating five large family amusement areas, adding more than 100 parent-child water games.

At the end of 2017, the Spanish-themed Cartoon Resort Hotel in Shanghai Overseas Chinese Town was put into trial operation, and the East China Tourism Resort Destination of "Theme Park + Theme Hotel + Cultural Performing Arts" was formed with the Happy Valley Water and Land Gardens in Shanghai.

In 2016, Shanghai Overseas Chinese Town upgraded Shanghai Happy Valley and constructed the new Shangri-La theme area, the third phase project of Shanghai Happy Valley.

In 2016, the parking lot of Sheshan National Tourist Resort was fully completed, providing nearly 3000 parking spaces.
