Baqu culture refers to the fact that Dazhou city is located in Bashan canal and belongs to Badi in ancient times. The chapter of Baqu customs is listed in the ancient book Taiping Huanyu Ji thousands of years ago; the second refers to the unique culture created by the people of Baqu, which not only has distinctive regional characteristics of Baqu, but also is an important part of Chinese regional culture. "Baqu culture" is the crystallization of regional civilization created by the working people living in Zhouhe and Qujiang River Basins after thousands of years of social development.
In 2019, Dazhou city has 327 cultural and art museums (stations), including 8 cultural centers, 312 cultural stations and 20 museums, including 5 public museums and 2 exhibition halls (memorial halls). There are 4 theaters and 23 theaters, including 19 cinemas. There are 8 public libraries with 1277000 books. By the end of the year, the coverage rate of cable TV users and comprehensive TV coverage reached 96.85% and 96.06% respectively.
