Nanchong mainly has rock salt, oil and natural gas, placer gold, ferrotitanium, uranium, phosphorus and other mineral resources. Nanchong is located in the core of Nanchong rock basin, the largest rock salt sedimentary basin in Sichuan Province. Underground salt resources are very rich. The proven controlled reserves are 170 billion tons and the predicted reserves are 1.7 trillion tons. Nanchong salt brine resources are high-quality salt rocks, the content of sodium chloride is more than 90%, the highest is 96.6%, the impurity content of salt rock deposit is less than 10%, and the water insoluble substance is less than 3%. The roof and floor of the salt layer are gray white anhydrite with a thickness of 1-3 meters. The interface is clear, which is convenient for water-soluble mining. Nanchong is rich in oil and gas resources, with a total oil reserve of about 80 million tons and natural gas reserves of nearly one trillion cubic meters. Longgang gas field with Yilong and Yingshan as the center has been developed and put into operation.
