Gesala eco-tourism area is located in Yankou Township, walai Township, Wenquan Township and Qinghe Township in the northwest of Yanbian County, Panzhihua City. It is located at the junction of Sichuan Province and Yunnan Province. It is adjacent to Guosheng township of Yanbian County in the East, Huaping County of Lijiang City in Yunnan Province in the South and West, and Yanyuan County of Liangshan Prefecture in the north. The geographical coordinates are 101 ° 07 ′ 57 ″ - 101 ° 25 ′ 54 ″ E and 26 ° 53 ′ 30 ″ - 27 ° 12 ′ 40 ″ n.

The landscape of the scenic spot is composed of Tiankeng and floor drain, karst landscape, alpine meadow and Yi style. The main scenic area is 116 km away from Lugu Lake and 376 km away from Lijiang. Along the provincial highway 216 (daopan Road), Daocheng and Yading can be reached. The first Panxi (Yanbian) eco tourism festival was held in Gesala Township in 2003.

Gesala eco-tourism area covers an area of 594.23km, with diverse vegetation and rich biological resources. The main natural landscapes are Rhododendron, primeval forest, natural garden, bonsai, Tiankeng and floor drain, magnificent heaven stone forest, fantastic underground karst cave and rolling alpine meadow. In addition, the multi-ethnic cultural customs and beautiful stories, the magnificent ecological community and broad and profound national culture are the main natural landscapes Cultural sightseeing, adventure hunting and folk customs constitute a unique scenic spot of eco-tourism and cultural tourism.

In 2001, it was listed in the tourism development plan of Yanbian county and developed as an eco-tourism area. In June 2003, as a key tourism development project of the whole city, the Municipal Tourism Bureau signed a planning contract with the Sichuan Provincial Tourism Planning and Design Institute. It is expected to start large-scale development and construction with high starting point and high standard in 2004.

"Gesala" in Yi language refers to "a beautiful paradise where people and nature coexist harmoniously". Commonly known as: the most fun place. Gesala Ecotourism Area has obvious location advantages and convenient traffic conditions. It is located at the junction of Yanbian County of Panzhihua with Yanyuan County of Liangshan Prefecture of Sichuan Province and Huaping County of Lijiang City of Yunnan Province. The 216 provincial highway runs through the whole area from south to north through Yankou township. From Yankou township to the west, there is a tractor road leading to Huaping County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. Yankou township government station is 118km southeast to Panzhihua City, 36km away from Ertan Reservoir Lake; 116km away from Lugu Lake in the north, which is nearly 89km shorter than that from Xichang to Lugu Lake. From the perspective of location, Gesala eco-tourism area can not only become the tourism support center of Panzhihua Western Rift Valley Scenic Area, but also become an important tourism support point of Panzhihua Lugu Lake Tourism boutique line. As an important part of Panxi Rift Valley Tourism Area, Gesala eco-tourism area has a variety of types, distinctive characteristics, high-grade natural eco-tourism resources. At the same time, the area is also a gathering area of Yi people, with strong Yi customs. Climatic characteristics

Gesala Ecotourism Area has the characteristics of subtropical three-dimensional climate. Because of the large relative height difference between the areas above and below the rock, the vertical zonal climate change is obvious.

The climate of Yanshang area is middle temperate zone and north temperate zone. The annual average temperature is 9.0-11.2 ℃, the average temperature of the hottest month (June July) is 15.0-17.1 ℃, and the average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 0.6-2.8 ℃. Yanshang area is a rainy area in Yanbian County, with annual rainfall of 1600mm and annual evaporation of 600-700mm. It is a good place to stay away from summer and enjoy snow in winter. The climate of Yanxia area is middle subtropics, North subtropics and south temperate zone. The annual average temperature is 11.8-17.3 ℃, the average temperature of the hottest month (June July) is 17.7-23.0 ℃, and the average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 3.3-8.6 ℃. The annual rainfall is about 1480-1500mm, and the annual evaporation is 800-1100mm. The river in the tourist area belongs to Yalong River water system, a tributary of Jinsha River. Because it is located in carbonate rock area, underground river is developed. Yankou underground river is about 15km long, forming a huge underground reservoir with water collection of 40 million cubic meters.

Gesala Ecotourism Area is one of the important forest areas in Panzhihua City, with forest area of 34430.7hm2 and forest coverage rate of 68.68%. Within the scope of 500 square kilometers, there are patches of forest, shrub, mountain dwarf forest and subalpine meadow. Species diversity, including Pinus yunnanensis, Pinus armandii, Taxus yunnanensis, hemlock, spruce, fir, Pinus taiwanensis, Rhododendron, Camellia sinensis, Quercus, Castanopsis fargesii, etc., constitute a variety of coniferous forest, coniferous broad-leaved forest, shrub and sparse forest grassland. Rift geomorphology

The landscape of the scenic spot is composed of Tiankeng and floor drain, karst landscape, alpine meadow and Yi style. The mountains here are continuous, with peaks and turns, sometimes with high loess slopes, sometimes with dense forests, and with thousands of camellia flowers, the geological and geomorphological changes are great. A senior geologist once said that "the landform here is comparable to jiuzhaihuanglong".

Tiankeng floor drain

There are more than 1000 funnel groups with different diameters and depths in the area of more than 300 square kilometers in Yankou and Waluo areas of Yanbian. Among them, the larger area is about 5000 square meters, the depth is about 30 meters, and the small area is about 400 square meters.

Tiandong No.1 is particularly eye-catching. Under the 200 meter cliff, 10 seconds after throwing stones into the vertical cave, you can hear the roar of water, which is about 155 meters deep. There are five caves of different sizes around it, such as Lingze cave. The karst landscape in the cave is unique and novel, including "Guanyin hall", "Luohan group", "camel peak", "lion mountain", "Luohan group".

The whole journey is 216 provincial highway, and the road condition is very good. The bus route of Gesala Ecotourism Area: 1: Airport - Panzhihua Airport - distance 160 - take airport bus or taxi from Panzhihua airport to the city center, then take the bus from Yumen to Yanyuan. 2: Railway Station - Panzhihua Jinjiang railway station - distance 160 - take bus No.64 from Jinjiang railway station to the passenger transport center, and then to the passenger transport center. History and culture

Gesala Ecotourism area belongs to the western margin of Panzhihua Xichang rift valley. The basic process of geological structure evolution of Panxi Rift Valley is: dome forming uplift in Late Paleozoic (Silurian Devonian), accompanied by basic and ultrabasic layered rock mass and small ring alkaline complex intrusion; Late Permian continental crust rupture accompanied by large-scale Emeishan basalt eruption, followed by alkali (acid) type a ring complex intrusion or eruption; fault depression and accumulation on both sides of the Late Triassic rift belt In the late Cretaceous to early Tertiary, the Rift Valley shrank, and the gypsum salt bearing sandstone and marl were deposited in the lake basin; at the end of the early Tertiary, the strong Himalayan orogeny was compressed from west to East, and the rift was closed and disappeared. Due to the different ascending and descending activities of the Quaternary neotectonic movement, a steep cliff with a length of tens of kilometers has been formed along the Yankou Waluo line, which can be divided into two geomorphic units. The upper part of the western part is high mountain and hilly plateau area, with an altitude of 2600-3300m. Tiankeng, floor drain and karst cave are developed, and there are strange plateau and mountain scenery; the lower part of the east part is Zhongshan canyon area, with an altitude of 1500-2600m, which is dominated by Canyon and waterfall scenery.

Folk customs

The folk customs are rich in the color of Yi nationality culture. The mountains are towering into the clouds, and the warm, simple and kind-hearted Yi people live here. The original natural style is far away from the noise of the city without being damaged by human beings. The primitive folk customs have been continued and spread to this day. In the turn of the peak and back road, the continuous grassland and primitive forest form a line with the dark blue sky. When azaleas bloom, this is the sea of flowers. Amizi (a young woman) of Yi nationality in gorgeous clothes dances and sings in the flowers, which is a perfect combination of human and nature.
