Ge Xiangting

He graduated from xiaoxiangting primary school in Anhui Province from August 16, 2010. After teaching for a semester, he devoted himself to the military because of the Anti Japanese War and joined the military troupe, officially starting his acting career.

Personal profile

In 1940, GE Xiangting was admitted to the famous "Venus film and drama training class" in Shanghai. He became classmates with Ouyang Shafei, Xie Jin and others. One year later, he graduated and stayed in the company to participate in the performances of "white cloud tower", "scenery in troubled times" and other films. He also served as the company's makeup artist. Soon after, Japan invaded China in an all-round way, and anti Japanese activities began in all parts of the country. He went to Beijing to join the volunteer team of the 92 army to perform a drama for the government to boost the morale of the people. At the same time, he got to know his wife Zhang Lin. during the civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, GE Xiangting was introduced to the armored drama team by his friends, and then he crossed the sea with the armored troops to Taiwan. Shortly after he moved to Taiwan, he transferred to the recreation corps of the Ministry of defense and continued to work in the military as a drama performer until his retirement in 1969. He joined the central film company and performed many well-known films, including "duck raising family", "return to me", "green mountains", "my daughter Ruolan", "when the grapes are ripe" and so on. In 1975, GE Xiangting joined the Chinese television company, making films, acting in TV dramas and taking on some plays. Up to now, GE Xiangting has participated in at least 176 films. Ge Xiangting has been engaged in performing arts all his life, and his enthusiasm for him has never declined. On the evening of May 16, 2010, GE Xiangting, a veteran Taiwanese artist who won two Golden Horse Awards, died at home at the age of 93. Ge Xiangting won the best actor award of the golden horse award twice for his films "duck raising family" and "Gao Shanqing". He won the Golden Horse Award for "Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2005 and suffered from Alzheimer's disease in his later years
