Huang kuid was born in 1959. He joined the same film group in Seoul University with director Kim Dong Bin (red eye), who was one year older than him. After graduation, he worked in Seoul film group, and then entered the first class of Korea Academy of film arts. He graduated in 1985. He once worked in Lin Quanze's performance department. He also served as his assistant director during Park Guangzhu's production of "Qizhu and Wanzhu" in 1988.
