Zhang Xihe was born in March 1935 in Yongchuan County, Sichuan Province (now Yongchuan District, Chongqing). Director of Emei film studio, now a member of China Film Association.

Zhang Xihe has worked as an actor and reporter in Sichuan dialect troupe, Chengdu dialect troupe and Chengdu people's radio station. He was transferred to Emei film studio in 1975.
