Zhang Yumin, whose ancestral home is Xilang village, Touyuan, Wenchang City, Hainan Province, was born in 1939. When his father brought him to Malaysia, he was only 8 years old. Zhang Yumin is very smart. When he was in Hainan, he only spoke Hainan dialect. When he came to Malaysia, he soon learned to speak Mandarin and Malay from the first grade of primary school.

Like many children who love their hometown, Zhang Yumin married a Hainan girl as his wife in Malaysia. The couple helped each other and had two children. Under the guidance of their parents, the third and fourth generations of Zhangjia speak Hainan dialect. Wanfeng Sydney (MA) Co., Ltd., owned by Zhang Yumin, is famous for its health care products and medicines. Wanfeng was originally a shop located in Kuala Lumpur commercial street. Its founder was Zhang Yumin's father. Zhang Yumin once said: "I am proud of Hainan. The holding of Boao Forum for Asia, Guanyin on the sea and miss world competition have made Hainan famous all over the world. Although it is difficult to find Hainan Island on the globe, most Malaysians know about Hainan Island. " Zhang Yumin said passionately, "our roots are in Hainan. I will try my best to build my hometown." Although he is living in a foreign country, his children have always been concerned about the development of his hometown. Zhang Yumin returns to Hainan three or four times a year. As long as he hears the call of his hometown, he will not hesitate to put down his business and return home from his own pocket to contribute to the construction of his hometown. He once led the community to donate money to Hainan University, Wenxi middle school and other schools, hoping that Hainan education could make rapid progress. He was awarded the honorary title of "model child" by Hainan provincial government for his remarkable social contribution. In November 1999, the sixth world Hainan Rural League Conference was successfully held in Malaysia, with more than 2000 Hainan people from all over the world attending. As the main leader of the conference, he and Mr. Xing Fuxin invited Hainan Philharmonic women's orchestra to perform at their own expense.
