Wu Guiling's wife is actor Lu Zhong.

On June 21, 2016, the official website of Beijing People's Art Theater issued an obituary, saying that actor Wu Guiling died at 17:45 p.m. on June 21, 2016. He was 78 years old.

On the morning of June 25, 2016, the farewell ceremony for the body of Beijing People's art actor Wu Guiling was held in Beijing, where many old artists came to mourn.

During that time, LV Zhong took care of his wife while rehearsing and was physically and mentally tired. Later, the play was postponed for some reason, which also gave LV Zhong more time with his wife. Besides the play, the performance of "golden pond" continued.
