Xu Qingdong (October 1945 September 19, 2014), born in the United States, is a director and screenwriter in mainland China and graduated from the director department of Beijing Film Academy.

Early experience

Xu Qingdong was born in the United States in 1945. Two months later, he was brought back to Yan'an by his parents in the United States. As a baby, Xu Qingdong followed his parents to travel all over China. In 1968, he graduated from the director department of Beijing Film Academy. In 1977, he was transferred to the art Bureau of the Ministry of culture.

Personal life

Xu Qingdong's father is a Chinese Communist leader in the United States, and his mother is a master of sociology at Columbia University.
