Li Dandan (1910-1998, another saying was born in 1911 or 1912), formerly known as Li Xiaqing, was born in Panyu, Guangdong Province. His ancestral home is Enping, Guangdong Province.

Li Dandan's father is Li Yingsheng, a revolutionary and manager of Minxin film company. Li Dandan once studied in Shanghai Zhongxi girls' school. He was smart, lively and versatile.

In 1925, Li worked with Li Minwei in Shanghai to set up Minxin film company, which made Li Dandan enter the film industry. At that time, he was only 15 years old. However, this is a misinformation. It may be that information was blocked at that time, confusing Li Dandan with another Chinese American female pilot Li Yueying. Li Yueying is of the same age as Li Dandan and serves in the US women's Air Force Logistics force. In 1944, when Li Yueying was on duty, she collided with another plane and died because she was seriously injured. At this time, however, Li Dandan was still raising money for China's Anti Japanese war. This trip is very long. Since March 1944, Li Dandan has been flying all over the major cities in South America. Wherever he went, he was warmly welcomed. Then Li Dandan flew to Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil, Peru and other countries. He flew back to North America from 1944 to December and worked hard for nine months. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Li Dandan once returned to Shanghai and later settled in Hong Kong for many years. In 1958, the new runway of Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong was opened. At the opening ceremony, 46 year old Li Dandan personally piloted the plane and gave a demonstration performance, which was reported by Hong Kong newspapers such as the industrial and Commercial Daily. Soon after the show, Li Dandan returned to the United States and lived a quiet and indifferent life. When Hong Kong returned to China in 1997, she was invited by the SAR government to attend the ceremony. On January 24, 1998, Li Dandan suffered from acute pneumonia and died in Warren, Southern California, at the age of 88.
