Biography of characters
Tang Xiaobai was born in Sichuan and grew up in Beijing. He graduated from the Department of western language and literature of Peking University in 1992, and later entered the China Academy of Arts with a master's degree in drama. He began to participate in film and television creation in 1997 and studied two years of directing course in Central Academy of drama in 1998.
In 2001, Tang Xiaobai created and directed his first film verb transposition. In the same year, he won the director's special award of the legano Film Festival in Switzerland and the special recommendation award of the International Film Critics union of the Hong Kong International Film Festival in 2002.

Tang Xiaobai is also one of the few Chinese female directors who can have important works selected into the three major international film festivals.
Tang Xiaobai's mother is Zhang Yihe, a famous opera researcher and writer; his Uncle Zhang Shiming was the vice chairman of the Rural Labor Party; and his grandfather is Zhang Bojun, a famous Chinese politician, patriotic Democrat and the first minister of communications of the people's Republic of China.
