Gan Jianyu

Gan Jianyu, born in May 1988 in Chongqing, is a director and screenwriter in the mainland of China. He graduated from the director class of Zhejiang Media College with a bachelor's degree and from the film production direction of Hong Kong Academy for performing arts with a master's degree.

In 2012, he directed the documentary "night ask 2012". In 2013, he directed his first film "primary school chicken movie", which won the best feature film award in the student film competition of the 8th first youth film exhibition. In 2016, he directed the short film Jing. On August 30, 2019, the action crime film "desperate" directed by him was released, which was shortlisted in the main competition unit of the 22nd Shanghai International Film Festival.
