Shen Yaoting, male, born in Shanghai in February 1935, is a Chinese film director from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. He has been a filmmaker for more than 40 years and is a prolific director in the directing circle of Shanghai Film Studio.

In 1960, Shen Yaoting demobilized from the army and began to work as a projectionist. Later, he went to Shanghai Film pictorial as a reporter. In June of 1960, he was transferred to Shanghai Haiyan film studio to do field work, under the guidance of Xu Tao, Liu Qiong, Xu suling and other famous directors. As a result of his hard work and good at learning, Shen Yaoting directed his first work "East port spy" in 1976, and then edited and directed the film "405 murder", which became popular all over the country and set the best box office record for more than 100 million audiences that year. He has made more than a dozen films, including "gold rush", "come back, smile", "between life and death", "spark of heart" and so on. In order to explore Shanghai style films, he directed a series of Shanghai beach films, including Revenge of Ma Suzhen, Lu Ping, blood diamond, lovesickness in wind and rain and undercover. In 1993, he also tried to use the investment of a film, a team of people, in a short period of more than two months, at the same time set shot "fraudster" and "die together" two films. A few years ago, Liu Hulan, a revolutionary historical film, was made, which was highly praised by the audience and relevant departments.
