Liang Baozhu is the daughter of the late Cantonese opera star Liang Xingbo in Hong Kong. Her two elder sisters are Liang Baozhen, a TVB actress, and Wen Lan, a film actress. She also has a brother who is a doctor.

In 1957, Liang Baozhu, Chen Baozhu, Chen Haofu, his father Liang Xingbo and Chen feinong formed a "mabao Troupe" to perform Cantonese opera.
