Busan i'park was founded by Daewoo Group in Busan, South Korea in 1983. Originally known as "Daewoo", the team is one of the founding clubs of K League. They finished second in the first season of the 1983 k-league, behind Hallelujah. The team became a professional football club in 1984 and was renamed "Daewoo Royal".
